They awakened their unstoppability and after 5 years they are heading to Prague.

In almost 20 years, the English ARCHITECTS have become one of the leading metalcore bands, which with their unceasing songwriting process and, above all, their approach, moves the record forward. And with it, of course, the entire genre, which has long since replaced clubs with halls. In February, after 5 years, fans will be able to enjoy their club concert again, where the Canadian sensation SPIRITBOX will also be presented.

In the beginning, when they were founded in 2004 in Brighton by twin brothers Dan and Tom Searle, they burst onto the scene with a wild core mix that drew heavily on the progressiveness and relentlessness of The Dillinger Escape Plan. Chaotic math hardcore and complex djent rhythms have been eroded by time, and with the inclusion of arena hymns and rock drive, the balance between melodiousness and impact prevailed. recognition that ARCHITECTS has endured to this day. The metalcore throne was won by this.

But shortly after the release of the follow-up “All Our Gods Have Abandoned Us” in 2016, lead guitarist and composer Tom Searle died after three years of living with skin cancer. Instead of a fall, the following years for ARCHITECTS mean a rise, because by accepting the status of an arena band, they improve the formula.

They multiply choruses, add grandeur, even references to their past, and for a while add orchestral grease to their sound. But they never stop, and perhaps following the example of their peers Bring Me The Horizon, on the last two records they have streamlined the songwriting, polished the production even more and emphasized the spectacular elements. And with the last two albums, ARCHITECTS have created some of the best ‘arena metal records’ of recent years, which, with a rockier swing and industrial strumming, without losing their energy, push the band higher and higher in popularity.

Additionally, the latest record “The Classic Symptoms of a Broken Spirit” was made very much in the moment after the covid era, and despite the title, takes itself less seriously than the other works. Here, Searle also turns darker themes on their head and pokes fun at the end of the world. “I really struggle with the idea of dwelling too much on negative things,” she says. “It’s really hard for me to detach myself from those topics. I have a wife and two children that I love and a job that I love. On a personal, superficial level, I’m in a super-privileged position – but that doesn’t mean I didn’t emerge from childhood without scars and neurotic behavior. I still have a mind that has its dark side, I still worry about the future. And our albums are an opportunity for me to deal with it and my way of therapy to get rid of the negative things in life.”

It’s also a discussion Carter tries to have on stage. Especially because of the darkness left in the band after the tragic passing of Tom, a founding member and Dan’s brother. Since then, the loss of a close friend has colored much of their work, but now on “The Classic Symptoms…” they exorcise their demons and address fans in a different light. “This record is more of a party record,” concludes Carter. “We already have a good vibe in the band and we’re celebrating Tom rather than being too down.”

That’s why there are already thoughts about the eleventh album, on which ARCHITECTS want to move on again and be a record ahead of the others. “If you think you’re the best, you’re not trying anymore. We want to continue to be innovators,” comments Carter, adding, “Nothing can go wrong if you do what you feel is right.”

Canadian sensation SPIRITBOX and Liverpool’s LOATHE will act as opening acts.
