IMODIUM is back! The band will celebrate 20 years on 4/4/2024 in Karlín Forum!
This year it will be four years since the rock quartet Imodium announced a creative and concert hiatus. Last year’s autumn single Střepy Tepy indicated that the chemistry between the individual members still works great. Duet with frontman Thom Fröde’s partner Žanet. at the same time became the harbinger of a unique exclusive concert that the band played this Saturday, June 3, as part of the home festival Broumovská guitar. And this is where Imodium put an end to all speculations about their future – in 2024 they will return to the scene with full splendor and celebrate 20 years since the release of their eponymous debut on 4.4. 2024 at his biggest solo concert to date in Karlín Forum in Prague!
“Our band never wanted to step on the spot. When we started to feel that this might be happening, we announced a break. It was insanely beneficial to everything. It showed us the interest of the fans, who were calling more and more for a return and put a huge appetite in our veins to make more music. Then it was just a matter of figuring out how to take it all in. Neither of us wanted to go back to where we left off. That’s why Forum Karlín came about,” explains Thom.
Guitarist Daniel Franc then says about the “comeback” concert itself: “Whoever knows the band Imodium at least a little, knows that its concerts are mainly about energy, not about laser effects and confetti. Forum Karlín will be the biggest solo concert in history. with interesting and probably unexpected guests. Of course with a great rock sound!!”
The aforementioned energy and dynamism have been Imodio’s hallmark throughout his entire career so far, as well as the ambition not to stand still and move forward. Currently, the decision to conquer another milestone in the form of a solo appearance at the Karlín Forum is proof of this. The band itself describes this as “vital”, but at the same time points out that a crucial factor was the unceasing support and enthusiasm of the fans, including their interest in the Saturday concert on the Broumovská guitar mentioned at the beginning.
“We had several important topics on the table. The return of the band, the new album, which was a condition for our ‘comeback’ from the beginning, and also the discovery that next year will be 20 years since the release of the debut album. All of this called for a great celebration. The biggest this band has ever put on. We’re really looking forward to it. But now there’s a lot waiting for us
work,” adds drummer Kárl.
