Russian deathcore machine Slaughter to Prevail is once again taking Prague by storm after two years with their brutal breakdowns and extreme guttural vocals by frontman Alex Terrible! Support will be provided by American deathmetal legends Dying Fetus and Californian deathcore pioneers Suicide Silence.
When it comes to Russian deathcore, Slaughter to Prevail comes to mind for those who are inside. The five-member formation originally from Yekaterinburg was formed in 2014 and bases its work on a combination of brutal deathcore, nu-metal and extremely deep guttural vocals performed by frontman Alex Terrible. The band debuted with the EP Chapters of Misery in 2015, which was followed by the albums Misery Sermon (2017) and Kostolom (2021). Their highly anticipated album Grizzly will be released in July 2025, which is supposed to represent the further development of their sound.
Live, Slaughter to Prevail present themselves using demonic masks that fit into their theatrical and dark visuals. The lyrics feature dark, nihilistic and brutal themes - war, suffering or resistance to the system. The fact that Slaughter to Prevail does not agree with the war became clear, among other things, when, a year after the start of Russian aggression in Ukraine, they distanced themselves from Putin's regime on social networks and subsequently moved to Orlando, Florida, USA.
American death metal veterans Dying Fetus will provide support. They were formed in 1991 in Maryland, and are known for their combination of brutal death metal, technical death metal and grindcore with an emphasis on technical precision, blast beats and guttural vocals. The band is considered one of the pioneers in the field of extreme music, and their lyrics often reflect political and social themes.
The lineup is rounded out by the American deathcore band Suicide Silence from Riverside, California, founded in 2002. Thanks to their unique combination of death metal, grindcore and groove metal, they are considered one of the pioneers of the deathcore genre. Their debut album THe Cleansing (2007) became one of the best-selling debuts in the history of Century Media Records. In 2013, the band was shaken by the tragic death of singer Mitch Lucker, after which Hernan "Eddie" Hermida, former singer of All Shall Perish, joined Suicide Silence and the band continued their work. Their latest album Remember… You Must Die was released in March 2023 and represents a return to their original hard sound.
