Up, Close & Personal
Imagine having the privilege, together with only a few hundred people sitting around a dance floor, of seeing Sergei Polunin dancing solo for 40 minutes, defying gravity and mesmerizing the audience with his brilliant artistry, phenomenal technique and unique stage presence, while being inspired by the legendary dancer and choreographer Vazlav Nijinsky.
And then, witnessing the wit of that unique person many coined as the greatest dancer of his generation, having a discussion on several topics such as his views of the future of the dance world, his work for supporting emerging talent, his ever-growing acting career and, foremost, about himself.
Live this once-in-a-lifetime moment you will remember forever. That kind of moment you will rave about and continue to talk about for many years to come.
Feeling, not thinking human, was one of Nijinsky’s mottos. He was not shy of breaking rules for the advancement of art. He was totally committed” says Sergei, “and, as everyone knows I believe in a similar philosophy. Not thinking ‘human’ forces you to think beyond what we know. And pushing your own thoughts is something I’m totally committed to. Yuka Oishi has created such a strong connection for me on stage, that I feel Nijinsky’s presence every time I perform.”
